Frequently Asked Questions

  • When is the wedding?

You’re invited to celebrate with us on the beautiful island, Big Island of Hawaii (The word Hawai'i is similar to the Proto-Polynesian word Sawaiki, which also means "homeland".)

The wedding will be a week of celebration from April 7th-April 14th 2025

  • What dates should I book my tickets for?

You can book your tickets for the wedding week, April 7th-April 14th 2025.

Please plan accordingly to purchase your flight arrangements. The airport you will be flying into is the Kona International Airport.

You are welcome to extend your stay before or after those dates, but you will have to make those plans accordingly.

Please refer to our travel info page for more details on travel.

  • When is the actual Ceremony?

There will be a week of celebration, but the actual ceremony and reception will be on April 11th, 2025

For more details about Ohana Retreat House visit our travel page

  • Is there a dress code?

Yes! There will be a dress code for the wedding ceremony & reception on April 11th, 2025.

All the details such as photo examples, and color suggestions are on our dress code page.

  • Can I bring a plus 1?

Unfortunately, no. Only our closest friends and family have been invited due to the location and venue size. We appreciate your understanding.

  • What weather should I expect?

April is one of the best months to be in Hawaii. You should expect an average temperature of around 84°F, with ocean waters at 77°F—ideal for swimming.

  • Will I need to rent a car?

The Kona International Airport is about 25 minutes away from Ohana Retreat House. Most people will just need to take an Uber to and from the airport.

But if you plan on exploring the island, we recommend renting a car. Jonathon and I will be renting a large SUV/Van that can be used, but if you plan on exploring, we recommend renting a car or organizing with others to share a rental.

Reach out to us if you plan on renting a car because there is a limit to how many parked cars can be on the property. Let us know if you have any particular questions!

  • What will we all be doing for a week?

Glad you asked! It was important to us to have as much time as possible so all of our friends and family could spend time with each other.

We are also encouraging you all to treat this like a vacation outside of the wedding events! You deserve it.

As for the wedding week, we are planning an itinerary so stay tuned for those details!

The ceremony and reception will take place outside at Ohana Retreat House on April 11th 2025

  • Is there anything I need to do?

    Nope! Just show up.

RSVP, stay tuned for updates, and make sure to buy your tickets in time.
